Dragon Closure

This is a shot of the back of my dragon pouch. It shows how the bag is held shut.

The body is Peyote stitch.

The fringe is both Looped and Stick style.

The strap is Russian Spiral and was inspired by ~vampi's beautiful piece [link] This was my first attempt at this particular stitch and I have to say I found it to be a b**** to learn off of internet instructions.

The tail of the dragon was extended using flat Peyote stitch. This was also a new style for me as I have never built off my main body before. I am not exactly happy with it, but I did it without a pattern and it was my first shot, so I am attempting to not be too critical.

The tail wraps around to create a closure. The strap holding the tail down was done in Brick stitch and then attached to the main body.

Materials included fairly inexpensive seed beads and nymo thread. If I would have know ahead of time how much time I was going to spend on this I would have used a higher quality of bead.

I am still working on getting better quality photos of my beadwork. So please do not critique that part of the piece unless you have advise on how to improve.
